Over time, weather, sunlight (UV rays), and even interior air quality cause the paint to slowly degrade, releasing tiny pigment particles. This doesn’t mean your house is falling apart; it just means the paint has reached its natural lifespan.

How to Test If You Need Primer

If you’re planning to repaint, you first need to figure out if your wall is stable enough to hold new paint—or if it needs a primer. Here’s the insider way to check:

Finger Rub Test
